Peter Lion was inclined towards writing from a very young age. Throughout his growing up years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote a number of short stories. His talent within this field was further honed when after enrolling in the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he started contributing to the students school newspaper.

He set out to create a career of his passion for the words by first getting a degree in Journalism from the Southern Connecticut State University. He printed his very first magazine article in the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.

He ventured into the television business before he had finished his college. A couple of months before graduation, Peter Lion took up employment with WTNH-TV as part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate of the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, didn’t have experience in this industry snapped up this chance to get an entry and also to develop a foothold in the news and tv industry.

He mastered the ropes quickly, understanding the technicalities in the workings of a television network and continued to be a part of the channel for more than a period of two years.

He then transferred to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He worked on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. However, his wish to be in television with the exceptional passion for writing pulled him back to his home state as a part of a little television station start-up.

He signed up with this team as a director as well as a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, which was to become the first in the state. He grabbed this chance of exhibiting his talent and knowledge as with his stint in Boston he has had the opportunity of working together with several accomplished directors. He used this understanding to build the show from the beginning.

Peter Lion moved to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing a couple of years in this start up. In his stint in this television network, he exploited the various facets of his talent and worked as a weather anchor, announcer, news producer, feature producer and director. It was during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled The American St. Nick”.

He then moved back in Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still an integral part of ESPN, he’s in charge of a number of their shows such as Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft as part of his position in the organization as a Director. His primary show however, remains, College Gameday.

He has been a 2 time winner in the Emmy awards, even though he’s been nominated frequently for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work in Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.

Besides working, Peter Lion is presently focusing on his second book. He is additionally a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is also its lead singer and guitarist
